Judith A. Hamilton

Judith A. “Judy” (Devio) Hamiltoin, 78 of Sturbridge, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home with her beloved family by her side.

Judy was born in Worcester, where she went to Commerce High School.  She worked as the activities director at the Blaire House in Worcester for 15 years before she retired.  She previously worked as manager of Friendly’s on Grafton Street in Worcester for many years. Judy enjoyed cross stitch, crocheting, playing Keno and slot machines and was a proud supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Judy’s husband, Leslie R. “Ron” Hamilton passed away on September 13, 2009.  She is survived by four children, James Hamilton and his wife Angela of Worcester, Stephen Hamilton and his wife Kristen of South Carolina, Lisa Schofield and her husband John of Sturbridge with whom she lived and Keith Hamilton and his wife Bridget of Worcester; her brother, Joseph Devio, Jr. of Worcester; her sister, Linda Tuson of Florida; ten grandchildren, Kenneth Montville, Caroline and Nicole Hamilton of South Carolina, Michael Dacri, III and his wife Sarah of Charlton, Alexander Dacri and his fiancé Brittany of Virginia, Hailey and Heather Schofield of Woodstock, CT, Cody, Madison and Dustin Hamilton of Worcester; three great grandchildren and one on the way, Michael Dacri, IV, Leia and Gabriel Dacri; many nieces and nephews.

Services for Judy will be held privately.  MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.  Memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
