Judith Ann Hayden, 75, of Worcester passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023 after a long period of declining health.
Judith was born and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Theodore and Ann (Doyle) Cogoli-Hayden. She graduated from Saint Stephen High School. She then attended classes at Quinsigamond Community College, Assumption University and continued her education with online courses thru the years.
Judy was employed by the David Clark Company in 1977 where she was honored and awarded “Secretary of the Year” by the Worcester Chapter of National Secretaries Association. She continued her career with the Bowditch-Dewey Law firm, the Feingold Insurance Company, the Diocese of Worcester - St John Cemetery, the Worcester Public School Administration, and Burncoat High School. Currently she was employed by Attorney Philip Soloperto as a legal assistant. Judy had a strong, dependable work ethic and was extremely dedicated to all employers she represented. She was a great history buff and respectfully honored our American flag, all veterans and the fight for freedom under the United States of America, a true American.
Judy was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel/ Our Lady of Loreto Parish. She also attended mass and novenas at St John’s and other local Churches. She enjoyed participating in bible study classes and special activities and travel events thru the church. Judith was also a lover of classical music and the Arts. You could often find her attending venues at Hanover Theatre, concerts at Mechanics Hall and events at Tuckerman Hall besides having an adventurous side for travel when an opportunity would arise. A kind and generous woman, she will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Judy is survived by her sister, Jean Cianci of Worcester; nieces and nephews Michael Cianci and his wife Lisa, their daughter Gianna, Steven Cianci, Shaun Cianci and his wife Jill and their son Easton; all of Worcester; Doreen Ciuffredo and her husband Michael “Chic” of Millbury; and Marianne Connor and her husband Kevin, their son Nolan of Fitchburg; several extended family members, many close friends and acquaintances; In addition to her parents, two brothers, Richard and Louis Cogoli, Jr. and a brother in-law Joseph Cianci predeceased her. She also leaves her close friend and caretaker Patricia Habib of whom the family is greatly appreciative for her loyal dedication and assistance.
At Judith’s request, a period of calling hours will be held Friday, January 5th, from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel- Lady of Loreto Parish, 37 Massasoit Rd. followed by her celebration of Christian burial Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will be private. In honor of Judith’s memory, a donation can be made in her name to Dana -Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston Mass. www.danafarber.jimmyfund.org The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
