Julia L. Herne, 44, of East Walpole, formerly of Worcester, passed away Thursday, July 5th 2018, at peace now among the Angels, her predeceased daughter Courtney and other family members.
Julia is survived by a son Nicholas Gedman of Rutland; her mother, Dianne J. (Meek) Herne of Gardner; a sister, Michelle Sherman of Maynard; two grandchildren, Aniyah and Nicholas Jr.; nieces, nephews and extended family members. She was born in Waltham, her father was the late, Robert W. Herne, and lived most of her life in Worcester before moving to East Walpole over a year ago. Julia worked several years as an Office Assistant/receptionist.
A modest and humble women with a strong spiritual faith, a heart of gold, bright smile and sense of humor; she would help and give her last dime to any stranger or person in need. Julia also cherished her family especially, her son and grandchildren. They were her life’s inspiration. Off key often, Julia loved to sing alone, with others and during karaoke nights. She also loved the ocean, notably Cape Cod. Julia’s faith, kept the future bright for her and guided Julia through all of life’s challenges.
Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours Wednesday, July 11th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, followed by a prayer service at 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers , contributions can be made to assist the family with funeral arrangements to the Herne family fund, care of Michelle Sherman, 6 Barilone Circle, Maynard, 01754.
