On Wednesday, November 11, 2020, Julio Alicea, beloved father, and grandfather, passed
away at the age of 66.
Julio was born on the 4th of July 1954, in Puerto Rico. He moved to Worcester, Massachusetts with his then wife, Carmen, to raise his four loving children. Julio was everyone’s favorite Tio and known by many as the man who could fix anything and make anyone laugh. A man of few words, his sparkling blue eyes did much of his talking for him. He loved salsa music, especially Frankie Ruiz, and lived to put smiles on people’s faces. Julio touched many with his kindness and willingness to help those in need. In his later years, Parkinson’s disease took a hold of him, and it was his turn to be helped by his devoted children, especially his daughter Yahaira and her partner Carlos, and Yahaira’s children Alejandro and Jasmine who provided his care until the end. He is survived by his devoted children, Julio Jr, Edgardo, Yahaira, and Jeanette, and their spouses, and ten grandchildren, all of whom carry a bit of his rebellious streak.
