Kathleen (Dick) Farrell

Kathleen Ann (Dick) Farrell, 63, of Worcester, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 4th, 2024.

Kathleen was born in Norwich, Connecticut, one of two daughters of Phyllis R. (Morin) Dick and the late Ernest C. Dick Jr.  Raised in Ledyard, Connecticut, Kathleen graduated from Ledyard High School in 1978 and furthered her education earning a business degree from Becker College in Worcester. She then met and married the “love of her life” John S. Farrell in 1986. Kathleen and John then began a 37-year life of family, faith, and devotion.  Kathleen worked as a retail associate for T.J. Maxx before retiring.

Kathleen is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, John S. Farrell; two children, Ryan S. Farrell and his wife Magdalena of Charlton, Ashley A. Farrell, and her boyfriend Johnathan Wilbur of Southbridge; two grandsons whom she adored and lovingly called her “Nana”, Jameson, and Tyler; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.  She is predeceased by her sister Diane Dick.

A homebody, she found her greatest joy in caring for her grandsons and was excited to welcome a third grandchild in June. She enjoyed the beach, caring for her house plants and roses, her cats, cooking for her family and spending special moments with her husband, mother, children, and grandsons.  

Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Tuesday, January 9th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, January 10th from the funeral home with a procession to St George Church, 40 Brattle Street where her funeral will be celebrated at 11 am.
