Kathryn (Charron) Rodriguez

Kathryn E. “Kate” (Charron) Rodriguez, 35, of Worcester, a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, and friend  passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 18th, 2021 following surgery

Kate was born in Worcester, the daughter of John P. Charron and Elizabeth M. “Beth” Plante.  She grew up in Spencer, graduated from David Prouty High School, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from UMass Dartmouth.  In total she lived 25 years in Spencer and the remaining years in Worcester.     Kate was employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Pathways for Change, Inc.   She also loved the arts and was a regular volunteer at the Hanover Theatre.   

Kate is survived by her wife, Jillian K. Rodriguez; her mother, Elizabeth M. “Beth” Plante of Spencer: her father, John P. Charron of Worcester; a sister, Kelsey M. Charron of Spencer; Mark Herber of Yarmouth: many aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends.  

Kate was a young vibrant woman who loved musicals, the beaches of Cape Cod, the Red Sox, and the movie Titanic, most notably being able to recite the historical significance of its demise and causes thereof.  She was involved in the 2019 Worcester PRIDE Pageant and was voted the Queen!   Special occasions, such as making baklava and Christmas cookies for the holidays, and traditional family parties were some of her happiest moments.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours Wednesday, July 21^st 2021, from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester, MA.  Her funeral will be held Thursday, July 22,2021, leaving from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Mercy Church, 341 June St., Worcester, MA, where her Mass will be held at 11:00 am.  Burial will be a private affair for the family at a later date.   In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to Pathways for Change,, Inc., 588 Main St., Worcester, MA 01608.
