Kayne R. Shavies, of Dudley, Massachusetts, passed away in his home on October 13, 2024, at the age of 23. He was born on August 26, 2001, in Worcester, Massachusetts, the beloved son of Sherrie Urena and Darrell Clark. Cherished sibling of Raenelle Vinton and Nyla Clark, Kayne also leaves behind his brothers, Kaheim Shavies and Shawn Shavies-Ducharme, and their father, Shawn Shavies. He was an adored uncle to Blu and Ivee Seabrooks.
He was predeceased by his grandfather “Pepe,” Robert Vinton; his Nana, Doris Shavies; his Uncle Kevin Shavies; and his cousin Elijah Giles-McNeil “Junior.” He is survived by his grandmother, Susan Vinton; his uncle, Christopher Vinton; his aunt, Lynn Vinton; and uncle, Elijah Giles, along with their children—whom he affectionately called his “brousins”—Kobe, Zachari, and their brother, Jonathan Giles-McNeil. Kayne also leaves many other aunts, uncles, and extended family members.
Kayne was a proud graduate of South High Community School, Class of 2019, where he played football for the Colonels. As an alumnus, he loved attending South High Football games and showing off his letterman jacket. He had a lifelong passion for sports, playing basketball for St. Peter’s Parish and football for the Worcester Vikings. Kayne had a talent for spotting rising athletes and often foresaw draft picks and trades before they happened.
An avid gamer, Kayne’s friends knew him as “the King of the Discord” for his lively commentary and unique sense of humor. He loved gaming with friends, frequently bragging that “no one could beat him at 2K.” Known for his friendly personality, he made friends easily and could talk to anyone about anything.
Kayne deeply valued his family. He loved family vacations, casino trips, and cookouts. He had a passion for music across all genres, often belting out a classic “banger” or the latest rap song. Kayne also enjoyed movies and shows, engaging in detailed debates with friends and family. A foodie at heart, he loved exploring new places to eat and was always eager to try something different. Known as “everybody’s brother,” Kayne prided himself on protecting his sisters and supporting their friends.
Kayne will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
