Kela Latrice Jones, 42, of Worcester, MA transitioned on January 17, 2024. She was born on August 3, 1981, in Statesboro, Georgia to the late John P. Jones and Brenda Lee Givins. Kela is survived by her beloved daughter, Kenisha Jones-Campbell and granddaughter Ariyah Toussaint, her loving siblings, Daron Brown, John P. Jones, Jr., Kenny Morell (Candy), James Lovett (Carlienne), Latonya Hazard (Ras), Candice Jones, Shirley Jones, and Vickie Jones. She also leaves her loving friend who was by her side for 30 years, Troy Campbell; and many nieces, nephews, God children, family, and friends. Kela graduated from Doherty High in 1999 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Kela has worked in childcare and the Worcester Public Schools for over 20yrs. She loved children and teaching. Kela was a member of Mt. Sinai COGIC. She was the department head of hospitality and served it well. She had the spirit of help and served in any capacity where help was needed. On December 17, 2023, she was licensed as an Evangelist Missionary. Kela touched so many people's lives and will be missed tremendously. As she would always say, TRUST the PROCESS. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Grace Christian Centre, 126 Elm Street, Worcester. The interment service will immediately follow at Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
