Kenneth R. Benoit, Sr.

Kenneth R. Benoit, 78 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at UMass Hospital with his family by his side.

 Kenneth was the son of the late Richard L. and Lorrayne V. (Perritt) Benoit. He was a lifelong resident of Worcester and enjoyed many happy memories growing up on Lake Quinsigamond with his four brothers. 

 After graduating from Commerce High School, he proudly served in the United States Army from 1964 - 1967, stationed in Germany. In his early years, he was an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life. Later, he went to work for Saint Gobain, where he worked for many years, before retiring in 2013. He was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus and belonged to Wachusett Country Club, where he enjoyed many days playing rounds of golf (19 holes) with his good friends. He also loved being in nature and bird watching, a pastime that earned him the nickname “Kennybird”. Ken was a music enthusiast, a fan of Elvis and enjoyed harmonizing to The Beach Boys with his brothers-in-law. His quick smile and sense of humor were enjoyed by all who knew him.

 Kenneth is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, of 48 years, June P (Poske) Benoit, five children, Joseph Benoit and his wife Faye, Kenneth Benoit Jr, and his wife Tara, James Benoit and his wife Tammy, Christina Benoit Mallozzi all of Worcester and Suzanne Popkin of North Carolina; a beloved brother Bruce Benoit and his wife, Marion; eight cherished grandchildren, six great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews, along with many dear friends. He is also survived by five sisters-in-law, CJ Posk, Debra Laramee and her husband Glenn, Pris LaFortune, Darlene Stepien and her husband Steve and Cheryl DeWolfe and her husband Kenneth. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by three brothers, Richard, Ronald and Alan Benoit. Ken will be deeply missed by family and friends.

 There are no calling hours. A private celebration of life for Ken will be held at a later time. 

 In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a Veterans Charity of your choice or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
