Kevin J. Clancey, 73, of Oxford, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2024, at UMass Hospital in Worcester.
Kevin is survived by the love of his life and wife of forty-six years, Donna M. (Martucci) Clancey; a daughter, Amy M. Coffey and her husband David of Oxford; twin sons, Kevin J. Clancey, II of Sturbridge and Keith M. Clancey of Worcester; a brother, Michael Clancey and a sister, Kathy Kanaracus, both of Worcester; two grandchildren, Ayva and David Coffey; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Mark, Ronald, Margaret, and Sharron Clancey. Kevin was born in Worcester, son of the late, Joseph B., Jr. and Gertrude H. (McCarthy) Clancey. He graduated from Doherty High School in Worcester and later served for six years in the Army National Guard. He later moved to Sturbridge where he and Donna raised their family before moving to Oxford four years ago.
Kevin retired in 2010 as the Postmaster in East Brookfield after working in the postal service for many years starting in the Worcester Post Office. He also enjoyed working as an “extra” for films shot in the area and worked as a part time DJ for WNEB in Worcester. He was a member of Saint Roch’s Parish in Oxford and enjoyed the Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots.
Kevin loved his family but the greatest happiness he found was from the tender times he spent with his grandchildren.
Calling Hours will be on Thursday, September 12, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Friday, September 13, departing the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. in procession to a 12 p.m. Funeral Mass in Saint Peter’s Church, 931 Main Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
