Kevin Patrick Ryan

Kevin Patrick Ryan, 54, of Worcester, a kind and quiet soul, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep, Friday, August 9, 2024. 

Kevin was born in Owensboro, Kentucky. Raised in Kentucky, Kevin found a calling to religion and entered Saint Meinrad Seminary in Indiana. He left the seminary after earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology, and found his niche and passion in helping others as a social worker for several nonprofit associations around the country. In 2011, Kevin met Gregg A. Stevens while they were both living in Kentucky; they married in 2016. Following career opportunities, Kevin & Gregg lived in several places around the country before arriving in Worcester 3 years ago. 

Kevin is survived by his husband, Gregg; his two beloved cats, Ella, and Gracie; other extended family members and friends around the country. 

Kevin loved animals of all kinds, finding love with their cats Ella, Gracie and passed away Finn who he dearly misses, as well as his previous dog Riley. Kevin also enjoyed antiques, and he always liked to browse antique stores on his travels. He notably at one time owned a shop of his own in Louisville. Kevin loved to travel, attend Broadway shows and restaurants when they lived in Long Island, 80’s and 90’s country music, and being with Gregg and their friends. 

 Funeral services will be held privately. Memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the MSPCA, 350 S. Huntington Ave, Boston Ma. The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
