Kevin J. Shavies

Kevin J. Shavies, 66, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2023, in the comfort of his home.  He is reunited in Heaven with his son, Kevin J. Shavies, Jr., who predeceased him in November 2010.

Kevin is survived by three sons, Michael Shavies, Sean Mulrenin, and James Anderson; three daughters, Jacqueline and Brittney Lee (Shavies), and Milliecent Clark; a brother, Shawn “Pop” Shavies; three sisters, Tamra Shavies, Cerrita Shavies Hawkins and her husband Ricky, and Stacey Shavies Watson and her husband James; Natasha Torres who he considered a daughter; a cousin and best friend, Michael Taylor; and cousin, Richard Johnson; many nieces and nephews.  Kevin was born in Oakland, CA son of the late, James and Doris E. (Bates) Shavies, and moved to Worcester at a young age.

Kevin worked with his cousin Mike for many years at BT Cleaning, maintaining car dealerships, markets, and office spaces.  Kevin enjoyed playing cards and pool.  He liked fishing and was a consummate joker.  His smile was infectious, and his smooth baritone voice was calming and mellow.

Calling Hours will be on Saturday, February 4, from 10 a.m. until his Funeral Service begins at 12 Noon in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
