Lawrence E. “Larry” Gustafson, 68, of Worcester, a loving man with a huge heart and bright smile, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2024, peacefully at home.
Larry was born in Worcester, the son of Robert L. and Barbara (Chase) Gustafson. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and has lived in Worcester his entire life. In 1978, Larry married the “Love of his Life,” partner and soulmate Congetta “Connie" Monfreda. They began their 46 years of life together on Rena Street in Worcester before moving to the Westside in 2015. Always a hardworking man, Larry was a machinist for several area machine shops before retiring from SuperCon in Shrewsbury.
Larry is survived by his love Connie; two sons he was so proud of, Joseph L. Gustafson and his wife Elizabeth of Beverly, MA, and Michael R. Gustafson of Worcester; three beautiful granddaughters, Emily, Juliet, and Sarah who called him “Buddy;” a sister, Susan Paul of Oxford; his pet dog, “Enzo,” who brought him such joy; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was also lovingly known as "Buddy" to Alessandra, Javier, Anyca, and Eliezer.
Larry enjoyed entertaining, socializing with the neighbors, gatherings, and being with Connie. He had a friendly nature and would begin a conversation with anyone he met. Before you knew it, he had made a new friend. He loved helping others. Larry had a simple life, of faith, family, and devotion.
