Leah Marie Petit, 56, of Worcester, MA passed away in her home on Thursday, July 6th 2023.
Leah will be lovingly missed by her two sons, Andrew J. Mastrototaro and Alec P. Mastrototaro along with his fiancé Angelina Coco, all of whom she was extremely proud of and expressed it each and every day; her fur babies, Django, Marley, Dexter and Kobe all of which made her face light up when she seen them; her loving brother, Richard Petit who she’d speak with for hours on the phone almost every night while watching their favorite movies and tv shows together, this meant a lot to Leah; her youngest niece, Gracie Petit who she loved dearly and became even closer with later in her life; her two nephews, Chris and Nick Jarvis as well as her oldest niece, Deanna “Kitty” Jarvis, all of which she loved very much; her Great Aunt Gracie, Aunt Janet and Uncle Ronnie as well as her Aunt Carol; her cousins Christine, Michelle, Tracy , Michael and Nicole; her best friend, Lori “Big Daddy” Hurley who held a special place in Leah's heart; her son Andrew’s neighbor Kathy who had become a dear friend to both of them and Leah cherished the time living with her son next door to her; The whole Mastrototaro Family, especially the Father of her children, Joseph Mastrototaro who thanked her as much as he could for giving him two great sons; lastly her Ex-husband, John Hayes and step-daughter, Mackenzie Hayes whom she shared many loving memories with in her earlier years.
Like her late Mother Dolores Petit, Leah had a tremendous heart. Those that loved her could see behind the sometimes-tough exterior deep down to her loving intentions. She had a way of being brutally honest while still expressing her motherly instinct of protecting, loving, and caring for all her friends and family. Leah didn’t need much to brighten someone's day, whether it was a sticky note or a late-night text; she always knew what to say and just the right words to tickle your heart and put a smile on your face. She was always fearless and brave when it came to keeping her children fed, clothed, and sheltered doing whatever needed to be done while they were growing up. Although Leah’s path had its bumps in the road, following her stroke in October of 2022 she really got on a straightened path. Both physically and spiritually she grew more than she ever did in her last months on this earth. From a coma, to not being able to walk, dress herself, or complete daily tasks, she fought and fought her way to a miraculous recovery, becoming fully independent in the most recent months. She always said her kids were her world. As they grew to adults it took Leah some time, but she found a new purpose, and that was to simply make them proud. That purpose was fulfilled. Both her children were and are extremely proud of her for how far she's come in her life and especially the past year. Leah will be immensely missed but never forgotten, forever in our hearts.
