He served in the Mediterranean Sea, mine sweeping along the French and Italian coastlines. Shack was an avid sports fan, who loved following the local teams as well as his beloved Yankees. He loved animals, especially dogs, and he enjoyed outings to Foxwoods with friends. His desire to be involved in his community was shown by his membership in the East Side Improvement Club, the Brownstone Club, MA Laborers Union, and Italian Veterans Legion Post. He worked for many years in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator and laborer. The family would like to thank Dr. William Gaines for providing excellent care for their uncle. Services are being arranged by Mercadante Funeral Home, 370 Plantation St, Worcester and will be private at Shack’s request.
