Lina Minardi

Lina (Cinti) Minardi, 92, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, January 14, 2023.  Her husband of thirty-six years, Emilio Minardi, predeceased her in January 1985.  Tragically, she was also predeceased by her son Egisto Minardi in September 2022.

Lina is survived by her daughter, Antonella Fox of Saint Petersburg; a son, Maurice Minardi and his wife Maria Ferreira of Woodstock, CT; her daughter in law, Cynthia Villatoro in Mexico; two sisters, Franca Mincarini and Domenica Domiani, both in Italy; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, she also leaves her longtime companion and dance partner, Albert Sargentelli of Saint Petersburg.  She was predeceased by three brothers, Mario, Aldo, and Andrea Cinti.  Lina was born in Mondavio, Pesaro, Italy, daughter on the late, Angelo and Maria (Orsolini) Cinti.  She grew up in Italy and moved to Worcester in October 1970.  For many years, she “wintered” in Florida, before permanently moving there in September 2021.

Lina worked for twenty-four years in the cafeteria at Worcester State Hospital, retiring as supervisor 2000.  She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.  She enjoyed flowers, gardening, and ballroom dancing; but it was her family that brought her the greatest joy.

Calling Hours will be on Friday, January 20, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Her Funeral will be on Saturday, January 21, departing the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto-Mount Carmel Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester.  Interment will follow beside her husband in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
