Linda J. Longobardi

Linda J. (Conroy) Longobardi, 65, of Holden, loving mom, nonna, wife, daughter & sister passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. 

She is survived by a daughter, Jeannette Detiberus; two grandsons, Dominick Longobardi and George Detiberus, all of Holden; her mother, Jeannette (Fischetti) Kaczanowski of Queens Village, NY; a brother, Joseph Kaczanowski of New York; a sister, Elizabeth Kaczanowski of Patchogue, NY; her husband, Salvatore Longobardi of Holden; her father in law, Al Longobardi of Brooklyn, NY; three sisters in law, Diane C. Longobardi of Auburn, Anna Maria Rodwill-Longobardi of Auburn, and Diane L. Longobardi of Cape Cod; a brother in law, Nick Longobardi of Florida; many nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was predeceased by her father, William Conroy when she was a young child and her step-father George Kaczanowski who raised her from childhood, her mother in law, Carolina Longobardi; and her sister, Catherine Kaczanowski. 

She worked as a clothing merchandiser for many years, at Spag’s Supply in Shrewsbury, before she retired.  She enjoyed baking, cooking with love, gardening, camping, and her beloved cats. A native New Yorker, Linda loved the New York Yankees. Even though she lived in Massachusetts for many years she remained a true fan to her New York team.  She was also an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed going to the races and seeing her race track friends.  Linda loved her family and always relished the times that they were gathered together. 

She found true happiness and joy in making other people happy.  Especially those that she truly loved.  She would always put other people’s needs and wishes ahead of her own…even until the very end.  We find peace in knowing that we now have another beautiful Angel looking down.  Rest in Peace Linda.  We love you with all our hearts.

Calling Hours will be on Friday morning, April 20, from 9 a.m. until her Memorial Service begins at 11 a.m.  in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, 10 Judith Road, Worcester, MA 01602.
