It is with sadness that we share with you the passing of our sister, aunt, and cousin, Lorraine M. Bayrouty. She passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 4. She was 84. She is survived by sister Barbara A. Carey, several cousins, nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces and great nephews.
Lorraine was a friend to many who embraced the notions of being kind and helpful to one another. She was an avid “green thumb” gardener and loved seeing plants thrive. She loved creating comfortable spaces for people to be together.
Lorraine embodied the spirit of aloha and loved to travel – especially to the Hawaiian Islands. She spent her life taking care of dogs and dearly missed her dachshund, Coco and Petunia, the chihuahua she fostered for many years. She retired from a successful career in banking where she took great pride in helping people make good financial decisions.
Lorraine spent 30 years with life partner, Adam “Ski” Jeneski; he passed in 2001. Other family who are waiting for her on the other side are: her parents, Sebley and Sadie (Estaphan) Bayrouty; her brother Philip Bayrouty and his wife Barbara.
A special thank you to her cousin Charles Estaphan.
Calling hours for her will be held on Thursday, May 11th from 11 am to 12 noon followed by her funeral service at 12 noon in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 256 Hamilton Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
