Lorraine J. Haddad, 88, of Lighthouse Point, FL, formerly of Worcester, passed away Dec. 16, 2020 after a brief illness.
She leaves her three children; Ann-Marie Haddad; Judith Haddad and her wife Ann, Edward Haddad and his wife, Nelya; four grandchildren Roman, Julia, Jadon and Amelia all of Florida; many nephews, nieces and extended family in Massachusetts. She was predeceased by a sister, Fortunata "Lucky" (Patriarca) Mayo, and two brothers, Lawrence and Robert Patriarca.
Lorraine was born in Brockton, Ma, Dec.12, 1932 to the late Dominic and Mary (Pelaggi) Patriarca. She graduated from Commerce High School and later attended cosmetology school to obtain her beautician’s license after raising her three children. In 1952 Lorraine, married Najeb G. (Nash) Haddad, they lived, worked and raised their family with love and devotion before retiring to Florida, where Nash passed away in 2015.
Lorraine loved being a hairdresser and enjoyed participating in hair fashion shows in New York. She was an amazing cook, having mastered both Italian and Lebanese cuisine. She also loved to spend time with friends doing crafts, crocheting blankets which she would give to family and friends, and learning the latest country dances to perform for senior living centers or just having fun as a favorite pastime with friends. Her amazing smile would light up a room and she often filled a room with laughter. She cherished time spent with her family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life gathering will be held Saturday, June 26th 2021, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial was held in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Dementia Society of America (https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate) or Susan G Koman Breast Cancer Foundation (https://www.komen.org/).
