Lorraine T (Gendron) Langlois, a symbol of grace and love, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, October 5, 2023, at the age of 92, surrounded by family in the comfort of her Shrewsbury home. Her departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her legacy of warmth and kindness will forever illuminate our lives.
Lorraine is survived by her two devoted sons, James Langlois and his wife Joan of Princeton, MA, and Robert Langlois and his wife Connie of Groton, MA. She is also survived by her five adoring daughters: Diane Langlois of San Francisco, CA, Susan Langlois of Shrewsbury, MA, Karen Shammas and her husband Bob of Wilmington, North Carolina, Janice Langlois of Shrewsbury, MA, and Carol Langlois and her husband Michael Fernandez of San Francisco, CA. Lorraine's love extended to her eight grandchildren - Erin, Bob, Kevin, Jimmy, Annemarie, Valerie, Peter, and Jason - and her six great-grandchildren, all of whom held a special place in her heart. Additionally, she leaves behind a vast and loving extended family, a testament to the love and connections she fostered throughout her lifetime.
Born in Gardner, MA, in 1931, Lorraine was the beloved only child of Gladys (Look) Gendron and Edmond J Gendron of Worcester, MA. Her journey led her to Worcester in 1943, where she attended St. Joseph's Grammar School, a place where fate intervened, guiding her toward her future husband, James L Langlois. She continued her education at St. Stephen's High School in Worcester, graduating in 1948 and learning the skills of a meticulous bookkeeper, a role she embraced and loved.
In 1954, after James returned from the Korean War, they embarked on a beautiful journey together, exchanging vows that would bind them for 54 years until James' passing on April 3, 2008. Lorraine's devotion and love for her family knew no bounds, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts.
Lorraine's faith was a guiding light, leading her to become a cherished member of Saint Anne Church, where her spirit found solace and her heart found peace.
