Louise A. Scola

Louise Ann Gloria Scola, 94, of Worcester and Watch Hill, passed away peacefully at home on June 19, 2020 surrounded by family.  One of eight children, she was raised in North Providence, where her family had an ice cream shop.  Louise was accepted to the Rhode Island School of Design to study dress design.  Later she would meet Atty. John Scola (Yale Class of 45W), the love of her life for nearly 60 years, and would move to Worcester to raise their three children- Dr. John Scola with Alison Last, Jeanie married to Dr. Keith Hilliker, and Nancy married to Judge Vito Virzi. Louise was the last surviving senior member of the older generation of both families. She was the proud grandmother to eight grandchildren and great grandmother to three.                                                                      

Gram was a phenomenal piano player, an avid crocheter and baker, the author of three children’s books, and a longtime member of the Worcester District Medical Society Alliance. She will be remembered for her wit and humor, her warm heart and smile, her daily prayer, and playing basketball with her grandkids well into her seventies. Memorial contributions can be sent to the Louise A. and John Enrico Scola Scholarship Fund at Assumption College 500 Salisbury Street in Worcester 01609, care of Melanie Desmarais. Services will be private.

There will be a Memorial Celebration of Mom’s life held later in the year.
