Lucian “Lou” Triola, 69, of Worcester, passed away in his home surrounded by loved ones, Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
Lucian’s devoted wife, Elaine A. (Hurley) Cooney-Triola with whom he shared thirty-three years of love, family and devotion passed away om July 2, 2021. He is survived by his only sibling, best friend and caregiver, Gloria A. Triola; two nieces, Lauren Jasukonis and her fiancée Andrew Cosenza, Elizabeth Perrone and her husband Paul; He is survived by his stepchildren, John D. Cooney of Boylston; and Debra J. Tully of Worcester; a step-daughter in law, Susan M. Cooney of Sterling; seven step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends, including his Norton Buddies, Tony and Rosemarie Tiscione, In addition to his parents and wife Elaine, a step-son, James B. Cooney, III and their beloved dog, Rocky all predeceased him. Lucian was born in Westfield, the son of Luciano and Lena (Molinari) Triola, he grew up in Shrewsbury and lived there most of his life before moving to Worcester.
Lucian worked for the Norton Company for over 40 years as a machinist before retiring. During his time at Norton Company, Lou developed many lifelong friendships that to this day he remains close to. Lou along with Elaine, loved to be with family. enjoyed boating and camping with them at their home on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. He cherished every moment he could spend with Elaine, their family and his sister Gloria during holiday gatherings or any day that ends in “y”.
Lucian’s family would like to thank the wonderful people at Overlook Hospice, Kate and April for their care and devotion to Lucian and the family during a difficult time.
Calling Hours for Lou will be held Thursday February 1st, from 9:30 am until his funeral service begins at 11 am in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Overlook Hospice, 88 Masonic Home Road, Charlton, MA 01507.
