Lucille (Calabrese) Simone

Lucille (Calabrese) Simone, of Millbury passed away December 13, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born September 23, 1937, to Leonardo and Josephine (Tatalo) Calabrese in Worcester. Lucille was the beloved wife of 64 years to the late, Vito “Hank” Simone. 

Lucille worked in environmental services for UMass University Campus for 21 years. She enjoyed relaxing and watching the Andy Griffin Show. Anyone that knew her, knew she looked forward to her Friday routine of getting her hair done, going grocery shopping and out to lunch with her sister Marie. Lucille loved to cook but what brought her true joy was spending time with her family. 

Lucille is survived by her loving children, Susan Coffone of Shrewsbury, Vito Simone and his wife Carmelina of Millbury, Joanne DiTommaso and her husband Peter of Auburn, and Michael Simone of Sutton; her adored grandchildren, Anthony Coffone, Nicholas and Mattew Simone and Angela DiTommaso. 

In addition to her parents, Lucille is predeceased by her grandson, Steven Coffone and her siblings, Domenic, Marie, Michelina, and Phyllis. 

The Simone family would like to say a special thank you to River Terrace Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center for the exceptional care they provided Lucille. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, from 9:30am to 11:00am at MERCADANTYE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Funeral Service will begin for 11:00am with interment to follow at St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lucille’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
