Luis Daniel Santana, 40, of Worcester, a loving son, brother and friend passed away Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 surrounded by family after a short illness.
Danny was born in Paterson, New Jersey, the youngest son of Marcelina (Castro) Cay and Patricio Santana. As a young child, Danny came to the Worcester area with his family where he graduated from Worcester Vocational High School with a degree in Automotive technology. After graduating from high school, Danny then began a career in the automotive field. He worked in a field that he loved. Danny loved classic cars; fixing, building and driving them. He attended car shows, loved tinkering with older model autos and watching car programs especially Fastest Cars and Barrett Jackson auto auctions on television.
Danny is survived by his mother, Marcelina (Castro) Cay of Worcester and his father, Patricio Santana of Puerto Rico; his four siblings, Carmen Cay of Worcester, Felix Cay and his wife Martita of Clearwater Florida, Hector Cay and his wife Anna-Maria , and Marco Santana all of Worcester; four nieces, Franchesca, Shameka, Krystine, and Celina; a nephew, Felix; many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family members.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Monday, June 17th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 18th at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
