Luz E. Aponte

Luz Eneida Aponte, 55 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness at home on Sunday, February 11, 2024.

Luz, affectionately known by many as “Chiqui” or “Lucy”, was born on September 8, 1968 in Catano, Puerto Rico. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt who enjoyed painting, gardening, and fashion.  Luz was very social, a huge fan of Beyonce and was all about her family, especially her daughters, nieces, and nephews.  She was also the vice president of a local Jeep Club in Worcester called Los Jeeperos de Worcester.

Luz is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer Reyes and her significant other Ashley Harlacher of Worcester and Charlene Reyes of Brockton; her father, Ramon Aponte of Worcester; her brother, Ramon Aponte, Jr. of Palmer; her sister, Nyrma Ramos of Webster; her former spouse and good friend, Rafael Saldivar of Worcester; step-daughter, Stephanie Saldivar of Ohio; step-son, Brayan Saldivar of New Jersey; many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family members.  She is predeceased by her mother, Luz C. (Matias) Aponte.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 2-3 pm with a funeral service immediately following at 3:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME &CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.  Burial will be held privately and at the convenience of her family.
