Luz Marina (Chavarro) Rodriguez, 71, of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loving family on Thursday, June 30, 2022.
Luz is survived by six children, Jacqueline DaVilla and her husband Raymond, Carolina Rodriguez, and Diana Maria Rodriguez, Luis Alexander Rodriguez, Juan Carlos Rodriguez and his wife Yeimy, and Jorge Leonardo Rodriguez and Alyssa Coakley; thirteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; seven siblings, Jose Jesus, Luis Alberto, Jorge Huberto, Angel Eduardo, Rosario, Clara Ines, and Blanca Cecilia; as well as many nieces and nephews. Luz was born in Arbeláez, Cundinamarca, Colombia, daughter of the late, Jorge and Maria Elina Chavarro Rodriguez. She grew up in Colombia, before settling in Worcester in 1986.
Luz was first and foremost a loving mother, grandmother, and full-time servant of Jehovah; always concerned for others and continued to support her family in Colombia. She worked as a PCA for Home Staff Health Services, later working with the Tempest Agency and caring for her grandson.
Luz was unconditionally selfless and generous with her love, knowledge, and spirituality. She would often preach and encourage people through the words of Jehovah. She was an artist on so many levels, including painting, sewing, crochet, crafts, and of course cooking. She loved to surround herself with loving family and friends and they often ate from her table and from the table of love.
