Worcester – Mahasin “Mae” Yanni, 80, of Worcester, a devoted wife, mother, and teta went home to be with our LORD & Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her family, on Monday, September 18th, 2023.

Mahasin was born on November 7, 1942, and was raised in Kfarshima, Lebanon. She was one of seven children of Toufic and Samia Wehbe. Mahasin "Mae" Wehbe, married Raymond Yanni in Lebanon in 1972, and four years later Mae Raymond and their son Fady immigrated to the United States and settled in Worcester to raise their family with faith and love in Christ Jesus. Mae, a remarkable homemaker, neighbor, and culinary artist, delighted in preparing Lebanese delicacies that brought joy to those around her. Additionally, she dedicated 22 years of her life to the El Morocco and served another 25 years at the University of Massachusetts Medical Hospital on Lake Ave before embracing retirement.

Mae’s husband, Raymond, of 45 years,  passed away on Christmas Eve of 2018. She leaves her two sons, Fady "Fred" Yanni and his companion, Melissa Perez, of Worcester, and Andre Yanni and his wife Patricia (Karam) Yanni of Charlotte, North Carolina, and their three sons Evan, Alex, and Ray Yanni. Mae also leaves her brother Willie Wehbe of Australia, brother Ghassan Wehbe of Lebanon, sisters Elham & Afifeh of Lebanon, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members both here and in Lebanon.

Mae was a member of St. George’s Orthodox Cathedral. She was the Matriarch of her family and had a big kind heart and bright smile that warmed everyone she met. Devoted to her Orthodox Christian faith and her Lebanese heritage, she lovingly made sure her children had the teachings and heritage in their lives. She found immense pride and gratitude with her grandsons and family by her side.
