Margaret T. (Fitzpatrick) Ritacco, 80, of North Grosvenor Dale, passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by loving family.
Margaret is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Anthony F. Ritacco, Jr.; their children, Theresa Graham and her husband Mark of Pomfret, CT, Anthony Ritacco, III and his significant other, Cheryl Hawkes of Webster, Rhonda Besaw and her husband Gary of Thompson, CT, Craig Ritacco and his wife Sandy of Webster, and Keith Ritacco and his wife Dawn of Thompson, CT; a brother, Gerald T. Fitzpatrick of Woonsocket, RI; fifteen grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Margaret Theresa was one of nine children born to the late, Charles J. and Elsie Mae (Gagnon) Fitzpatrick, and was predeceased by seven siblings, Charles J. Fitzpatrick, Jr., Mary E. Skerry, Anne E. St. Germain, James B. Fitzpatrick, John F. Fitzpatrick, Geraldine H. Grimes, and Kathlene Fitzpatrick. She graduated from David Hale Fanning Trade High School.
Margaret Theresa Fitzpatrick Ritacco was a loving wife and mother. She was a stay-at-home mother for years until the children were of age that allowed her to work. She worked various jobs throughout her life, including Beacon Pharmacy in Oxford, Stark Wholesale Electronics in Worcester, and the Christmas Tree Shoppe in Shrewsbury. She loved to travel and toured the United States and Germany. She enjoyed playing slots, especially at Foxwoods Casino, she enjoyed several genres of music including, Elvis Presley and George Jones. She could often be found checking out yard sales and flea markets in Massachusetts and Connecticut. Above all else it was her family that brought her the most joy and she loved each and every one of her children and considered herself to be truly blessed.
Friends and relatives are invited to join her family in celebrating her life during calling hours on Tuesday, June 22, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Wednesday, June 23, departing the funeral home at 10 a.m. in procession to a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Paul’s Cathedral, 15 Chatham Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Mooreland Cemetery in Paxton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the favorite charity of the donor.
