Margaret M Rossik

Margaret M. (Stopyra) Rossik, 89 of Auburn passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022 in Lutheran Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center.  Her husband of 46 years, Joseph M. Rossik died on June 15, 2001.

Margaret was born on December 19, 1932, in Worcester, Massachusetts and was preceded in death by her parents Walter C. & Margaret F. (Horton) Stopyra.  She was a graduate of Commerce High School.

She is survived by her son, Joseph M. Rossik, Jr. of Woodstock, CT; two daughters, Paula F. Rossik of Westborough, and Patricia “Trish” A. Pignataro and her husband Frank of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Jessica Harris of Auburn, Michael Garbauskas of Florida; Mark Pignataro and his wife Jennifer of Oxford, James Pignataro and his wife Tiffany of Longmeadow, Patrick Rossik of Leicester and Nicholas Rossik of Woodstock, CT; five great grandchildren; Joshua Harris, Quinn Garbauskas, Dominic, Sophia  and Vince Pignataro and many nieces and nephews.  She is predeceased by a grandson, Bryan Rossik and a brother Francis X. Stopyra.

Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for the Narragansett Brewing Company from 1960 to 1977 and retired from McCrillis & Keepe Insurance Co. in 1997.  During her younger years Margaret was a drum majorette for the Polish National Alliance Club.  Margaret enjoyed playing bingo, reading and spending time with her family.

Family and friends are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Planation Street, Worcester from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2022 and again at 8:45 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.  Burial will follow to Hillside Cemetery in Auburn.
