Marie R. (Baillargeon) Rousseau Urso, 86, of Worcester, passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, May 6, 2024. Her husband, Anthony Urso predeceased her, and was predeceased by her first husband, George Rousseau.
Marie is survived by two sons, Robert J. Rousseau and his wife Ronde of Millbury, and Michael G. Rousseau of Douglas; a step son, Gerald Urso of Jacksonville, FL, and a step daughter, Linda Harris and her husband David of Worcester; six grandchildren, Jared Urso, Nicholas Urso, Amanda Dobbs, Christopher Skow, Sarah Harris, and Laura Harris; thirteen great-grandchildren; and a dear friend and care giver, Deb Donohue and her husband Bruce of Worcester. Marie was born in Providence, Rhode Island, daughter of the late Ernest and Marie (Chamberlain) Baillargeon. She studied nursing at Quinsigamond Community College and received her bachelor’s degree from Assumption College.
Marie was a Registered Nurse at Saint Vincent Hospital before retiring.
Marie, having become a young widow, dedicated her life to making the lives of her sons fully enriched with love and a sense of family. She was involved with the Boy Scouts for over twenty years, having served as Den Mother for pack 51 and was a committee member for Pack 63. She earned several awards and accomplishments from the Boy Scouts including, the Silver Beaver Award, the completion of the Wood Badge training course, and The Saint George Award which was conferred to her by Bishop Flanagan.
Marie enjoyed camping trips, traveling, and enjoyed all that the great outdoors offered. She loved Cape Cod, visiting the Grand Canyon, Arizona, Utah, and California, to name only a few.
Calling Hours will be on Saturday, May 11, from 12 Noon until 2 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 2 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
