Mario A. Martellotta, Jr. 51, a longtime resident of Shrewsbury, passed away suddenly at home, Tuesday, March 5, 2024.
Mario was born in Worcester, the son of Mario A. Martellotta, Sr and the late, Patricia (Bisceglia) Martellotta. Raised in the Fairlawn neighborhood of Shrewsbury, he graduated from Worcester Boys Trade. Mario worked for the past many years as a recovery driver for Direnzo Recovery & Trucking Company.
Mario is survived by his father, Mario A. Martellotta Sr; a sister, Melissa “Missy” Dean, her husband Dennis and their children, Ryan & Kylie of West Boylston; an uncle, Maurice “Moe” Bisceglia; his companion with whom he lived, Tiana George; his best friend and pet dog “Bella;” extended family and friends. In addition to his mother, maternal grandparents, Maurice and Anna Bisceglia, and Paternal grandparents, Felix, and Antoinette Ciccone predeceased him.
Mario was full of life, the life of the party, could fix anything and helped anyone who needed a hand. He had a huge smile, caring heart, and quick wit, becoming friends with anyone he met. He enjoyed the casino, driving, cooking, the New York Giants, NASCAR, and fixing electronics. He notably was able to buy something, disassemble and re assemble just to see how it was constructed. He will be truly missed by many.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Monday March 11th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 12th at 11 am in the funeral home. A burial will follow in Mt View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in his name can be made to the ASPCA, American Association for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 424 E 92nd St, New York, Ny 10128
