Marjorie (Childs) Barthelmes

Marjorie M. (Childs) Barthelmes, 63, of Worcester formerly of Hyannis passed away unexpectedly in her home, Sunday, August 14^th, 2022.

Marjorie was born in Hyannis, a daughter of Alfred and Ellen (Kittila) Childs. Raised on the Cape, Marjorie with a longing to help people, earned her nursing degree and became a nurse for various hospitals and nursing facilities, most recently the past several years for the St. Francis Home.

Marjorie is survived by her son, Justin L. Emerald, and his wife Wendy of South Yarmouth;  six grand children that she adored, Danny, Kevin, Kole, Tristan, Hunter, and Micah; two sisters, Janet Cobb, and Judy Smith both in Hyannis;  Nieces, nephews, extended family members, friends and her cats Pink and Floyd (who now live with her son and his family). A brother, Donald Childs predeceased her.

Marjorie was a very compassionate mother, grandmother, friend and nurse who loved to laugh and make people laugh. She cherished the times she was with her son, daughter and grandchildren and had a passion for helping her residents. Marjorie loved cats,  making jewelry of glass and beads, traveling and the game Candy Crush(she was on level 8095).

There are no funeral services planned. Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the St Francis Home, Patient Activities Fund, 101 Plantation St  Worcester Ma THE MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
