Mark J. Sokowaski, 54, of Charlton passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 27.
Mark is survived by his wife and partner of 21 years Linda Stevens-Sokowaski, his three cherished children, Lucas, Olivia and Christian. His Mother Cheryl (LaFontaine) Sokowaski of Worcester, Marks father John predeceased him in 2010. Mark also leaves his sister Michelle A. Temple and her husband Russ of Sutton, two nephews Ryan and Nicholas, and one niece Emma, along with a multitude of friends; including his “furr” ever friend Daisy.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of John and Cheryl Sokowaski. He graduated from Worcester Vocational Technical High School in 1985, he later continued his education to become a Master Plumber. At the start of his career, he worked for R & R Plumbing and Grasseschi Plumbing and Heating. For the last 15 years, Mark served the City of Worcester as a Plumbing Inspector. While working for the city, he also taught plumbing classes for Central Mass Technical School of Plumbing. The relationships that Mark has developed throughout the years with builders, contractors and city officials is a testimony of the kind and friendly man that he was.
Mark cherished spending time with his children, especially outdoors, whether it was camping, four-wheeling or boating and tubing. Mark would not let a July 4th go by without lighting up the sky with fireworks, even if it meant making the neighbors a smidge unhappy. Throughout his life, Mark enjoyed playing the drums along to 80s Rock music, again, making some loved ones a smidge unhappy.
One of his biggest accomplishments was restoring and rebuilding his Red 1972 Chevelle. You could find him on some summer weekends at New England Dragway with his buddies. But the thing he enjoyed the most was being a Dad.
Mark was the life of the party and his smile was infectious. He was kind, hard-working, loving and his generosity was unmeasured. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Services for Mark will be held on Friday May 6, 2022, from 4-8PM at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. Worcester, Ma 01605. Burial will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery.
