Mark Paul Murray, 67, an adored husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 22, 2023, after a yearlong battle with cancer. At the time of his passing, Mark lived with his wife Emily Murray in West Boylston, Massachusetts.
Mark leaves behind his beloved wife Emily Murray, who he laughed his way through life with for more than 41 years. He also leaves his two daughters Leah Murray and Lori Murray, his grandchildren Desmond and Eloise, his son in law Jose Reyes, his sister Patti Kreckie, his brother Steven Murray, good friends Eddie Kearns, Mike Zito, Tony Sarno, Billy Logie, Kevin LaCroix, Daniel Bourgeois, and many other friends, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mark was predeceased by his parents Leo and Beverly Murray, and his older brother Leo Murray Jr.
Mark was born in Chelsea and raised in Revere, and his life was defined by his love of his family as well as his work ethic. He had been enjoying a decade of retirement after 42 years of work at Beacon Sales Roofing Supply Co.
Mark cherished his relationships with family, good friends, and cultivated connections. He was always the one you could reach out to about “knowing a guy” for anything that went wrong. He was also a collector of knowledge. If you had a history, lawn, home, car, geographical, or community question, he had either the answer or the inclination to help you find it.
Mark was a traveler. He enjoyed seeing the world, especially with Emily.
Mark found humor in everything, and his laugh was contagious. Mark could have you in stitches with his anecdotes and his long list of “Emilyisms.” Whether laughing down bumpy roads as he traveled around the world with Emily, or cracking jokes while planning his own lack of funeral, his comedic timing was as punctual as he was.
Please celebrate Mark in your thoughts and cheers, as there will be no official services. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to his cousin Diane’s fundraising group, Mom’s Angels (http://main.acsevents.org/goto/momsangels2023) the proceeds of which go to the American Cancer Society, or the Rose Monahan hospice in Worcester.
