Mary Ann (Lapriore) Dumont, 61, died peacefully in the arms of her husband and surrounded by her daughters on December 26, 2020 at their home in Shrewsbury, MA after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mary Ann was born on May 15, 1959 in Worcester, MA to Frank and Wanda (Nowosilecki) Lapriore. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and Becker Junior College. Mary Ann worked as a legal secretary throughout her life, most recently for Atty. Vincent Vilkas and made many positive relationships throughout the Worcester District Court System. Mary Ann was happily married to Scott Dumont who was her partner in life for more than 38 years.
Mary Ann is survived by her husband Scott, her two daughters, Kelly Ingerson and husband Taylor of Merrimack NH; and Lisa LaBaire and husband Richard of North Grafton. She also leaves three grandchildren: Jaxon, Abel and Kayla; her beloved companion, Gizmo, who never left her side during the past two years of her battles; a sister Paula Lapriore Bulger and husband Kevin of Shrewsbury; a brother Peter Lapriore and wife Deborah of Shrewsbury; a sister-in-law Theresa Lapriore of Shrewsbury; many nieces and nephews, extended family, and innumerable friends. Mary Ann is predeceased by her parents, Frank and Wanda Lapriore, and her brother Frank Lapriore, Jr.
Mary Ann was a sunflower to so many people. They looked to her for strength, guidance, love and acceptance. She was the matriarch of her family. Mary Ann and her husband hosted many parties at their home where she was and always will be remembered as Crazy Mazie with her party pants. Mary Ann and Scott also enjoyed playing card games, board games and planning trips together, especially to North Carolina to see their close friends/relatives, Nicole and Norman Lowe. Mary Ann looked forward every year to her “girls beach trip” with her daughters, grandkids, sister, sister-in-laws, nieces and close girlfriends. She would catch any musical she could see, especially her favorites: Fiddler on the Roof and The Sound of Music. Throughout her life she was involved in Girl Scouts, both herself at first growing up and then as an assistant leader for her daughters. For many years, Mary Ann enjoyed being a part of bocce leagues and spending time with new and old friends. She loved music; playing the violin during her earlier years and the piano throughout her life. Mary Ann would sit down at the piano and entertain us all during holidays, especially her favorite, Christmas Eve.
Mary Ann was blessed with three grandchildren; she was known as Mayonaise to them. Mayonaise spent much time with them, taking them to parks, to the library, creating wonderful works of art and experimenting with science, swimming, beach trips and so much more that they will hold onto as memories.
