Worcester

Mary Ann “Micki” (Kuzmicki) Shakour, age 86, of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, April 5, 2025, surrounded by her loving and devoted family.

Born in Leicester, Micki was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary T. (Toloczko) Kuzmicki. A graduate of Leicester High School, she lived an adventurous life, including a memorable period in Venezuela where she worked as a professional model—an experience she cherished deeply. After returning to Massachusetts following the Revolution, she married the love of her life, Jon R. Shakour. Their bond endured for nearly six decades, defined by profound love, deep friendship, and unwavering partnership.

Micki worked as an office manager at the family-run R.G. Shakour, Inc., and held various positions over the years in sales and insurance. Her work ethic was matched only by her warmth and grace.

Together, Micki and Jon built a life rich in love, laughter, and shared memories. Their home on Lake Quinsigamond was a hub of joyful summer gatherings with family and friends. They delighted in travel, entertaining, and nurturing strong friendships. Above all, Micki adored her family—her grandchildren, in particular, were her pride and joy.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Jon; her daughters, Renee G. Shakour and her partner Jason Tibbetts, and Nicole D. Shakour-Sakhat and her husband George; her cherished grandchildren, Jon Sakhat, Kassandra “Kassie” Sakhat, Charlie Sakhat and Eva Tibbetts; her brother, Anthony “Tony” Kuzmicki; two sisters, Dorothy Santiago and Theresa “Teri” Garabedian; and many nieces and nephews.
