Mary A. (Esposito) Ciccarelli, 94, formerly of Lyon St. Worcester died peacefully Wednesday December 25, 2019 in the Beaumont of Worcester surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 58 years Frank “Chick” Ciccarelli died in 2009. Mary is survived by her 3 Loving daughters, Frances A. Ciccarelli, Joanne M. Ciccarelli of North Grafton, and Maryann Alfego and her husband Joseph of Shrewsbury. She was the proud grandmother to Michael J. and David J. Alfego, and many nephews and nieces. Mary was predeceased by five brothers, Frank, Michael, John, Dominic “Dimo” and Matteo Esposito. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Josephine Ferrantino, Raffella “Rae” Manna, and Michelina ‘Mickey” Rosiello.
Mary was born in Shrewsbury daughter of the late Matteo and Libra (Notarangelo) Esposito and lived in Shrewsbury through her childhood before moving to Worcester. She was a graduate of the Major Beal School. Mary was a stay at home mom before returning to work as a salesclerk at the former Prime Value Mart in Worcester for many years before she retired. She was a member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and their Golden Years Club. She currently is a member of St. Anne’s Church. Mary was also a member of the San Vitaliano Society. Mary enjoyed walking, and trips to York Beach Maine. She was an excellent cook and baker and loved to share all her special cookies, she loved to read, but most of all she treasured the times she spent with her family. Mary was a special lady that always had a smile and a wave. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Mary’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff on the 1st floor of the Beaumont for taking such special care of Mom. We would also like to thank the Salmon Hospice staff especially Jeanette, Brian, and Kelly for their love, friendship and compassion.
Mary’s funeral will be held on Tuesday December 31, 2019 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of St Anne 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. A period of visitation will be held on Tuesday morning from 8:30AM to 10:30Am in the funeral home before leaving for church. Interment with her husband will be in St. Johns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Beaumont Rehabilitation Center 378 Plantation St. Worcester 01605, or the Salmon Hospice 5 Lyman St. Westborough MA. 01581.
