It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Thomas Daniel, who left us on January 3, 2025, at the age of 93. She passed away peacefully in her daughter’s home in Redondo Beach, California, surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born on December 17, 1931, in Worcester, Massachusetts, to Walter J. Thomas and Rose (Harpie) Thomas. She spent her early years in Worcester/Shrewsbury Mass. before moving with her husband, Wilfred Daniel, to Phoenix, Arizona, in 1972. There, Mary worked for many years at Wells Fargo in the central files department, where she made lasting friendships and touched the lives of those around her.
Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She leaves behind her beloved husband of many years, Wilfred Daniel, her sister Eva Dubuque, 4 children: Cindy Wilson, Jayne Koller, Jimmy DeForest, and Michelle Cuddy. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy. One of seven children, Mary was predeceased by two brothers, John and Joseph Thomas, and three sisters, Rita Najarian, Ann Paquette, and Theresa Haire.
Mary was a woman of extraordinary love, grace, and selflessness. She had a unique gift of making everyone feel welcome and cherished, and her warmth and kindness touched countless lives. She was the heart and soul of her family, the ROCK that held them together through all of life’s trials. Mary’s family is profoundly grateful to have had her in their lives. They were blessed by her unwavering devotion, her nurturing spirit, and her incredible ability to bring joy to everyone around her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
Mary will be greatly missed but never forgotten. We know that she is at peace, reunited with loved ones who passed before her. "Mom, we will see you again in heaven."
