Mary M Davis

October 22, 1939 — May 26, 2019

Mary Madgelene Davis, 79 years of age, passed on Sunday, May 26, 2019 at Christopher House Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center, Worcester, MA.

Mary was born October 22, 1939 in Bunn, North Carolina to the late Gavie and Lillian Baker.

She was the sixth child of seven, six preceded her in death.

Mary resided in North Carolina, and in her leisure she was a hair stylist. In 1958 she married Curtis Davis from Louisburg, North Carolina on September fifth. They both moved to Boston, Massachusetts the same year shortly after marriage to start their family. While living in Boston Mary pursued other employment as a Nurse Home Health Aide where she worked devotedly for over 30 years. In 1969 Mary accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. Mary and her husband found Holy Mt. Zion Church and became a member under the leadership of the late Bishop Katherine C. Lewis. She was a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, serving on the ministerial team, preaching the gospel and testifying before God of His goodness and mercies. She loved traveling to the Mt. Sinai Church of America conventions and to make sure she was ready she shopped for her favorites "Church hats, Handbags and Shoes" and don't forget the Church Suits and Dresses to match.

From 1979 to 1982 Mary and the family moved back to North Carolina and attended Mt. Olive Church of Corrine, North Carolina under the leadership of the late Bishop Ernest Johnson. During that time there were a lot of moving back and forth from Boston to North Carolina. Mary and her husband last move to North Carolina they became members of Greater Pentecostal Church of Raleigh, North Carolina under the leadership of Pastor Clyde Cooke. When Mary and her husband decided to move back to Massachusetts they resided in Worcester, MA to be close to their adult children. Mary loved being around family and did not want to miss the family vacations and gatherings, family birthdays, family graduations, etc. Whatever event the family was having she wanted to make sure she was present. Although she will be missed she will always be known to the family as "Lene, Nana and Stuff' and we'll miss her favorite quotes in her country slang voice "Hush Your Mouth"; "No He Didn't" and calling her husband every 5 and 10 minutes "Curtis"!  While living in Worcester,  Mary and her husband joined Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Reverend Esau Vance where she received her license to continue her ministry as Mother Davis.

Mother Mary Davis was truly blessed. She is survived by her husband Curtis Davis; she was preceded in death by her siblings Pete Baker; Dorothy (Fred) Eaton; Charlie Baker; Shirley (James) Leaks; Jonathan Baker; Rosa Lee (Ivan) Allen; she leaves to cherish her loving memory of her sister in law Pat Baker; her children Ronnie Baker of Philadelphia (deceased); Lillian “Carlean” Baker of North Carolina; Theresa Baker of North Carolina; Mark Davis of Massachusetts; Curtis Davis, Jr. of Massachusetts; Bryant Davis of Massachusetts; Beverly Davis of Massachusetts; and Shawn Davis of Massachusetts; daughter in laws Camilla Davis; Tamasha Davis, Alicia Davis; and host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren, relatives and friends.
