Mary T. DeMalia, 62 of Worcester formerly of Shrewsbury passed away with loved ones gathered at her bedside, Thursday, April 29, 2021 after a valiant 19-year battle with Cancer.
Mary was born in Worcester, raised in Shrewsbury the daughter of William A DeMalia and Teresa S. (Sabatalo) DeMalia. She graduated from Shrewsbury High School and began a longtime career in the insurance industry as a business analyst.
Mary is survived by her two children, Vincent D. Farina Jr. and Maria G. Farina both of Worcester; the apple of her eye and life’s love, her granddaughter, Isabella Rosalia Mary; a sister and her best friend, Theresa M.A. Rocco, and her husband Frank of Auburn; two brothers, William A DeMalia Jr, and his wife Patricia of Rockledge, Florida, John A. DeMalia and his wife Laurie of Hubbardston; her sister-in-law, Jeanne DeMalia of Uxbridge; many godchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Mary a woman with a deep faith in her catholic religion, who attended Mass on a regular basis, joins in heaven her parents William and Teresa, her two brothers, Andrew V and Michael A. DeMalia and other family members.
Mary was a beautiful person who fought cancer for 19 years, never giving up always with an optimistic outlook and devotion to take care of her children and family. The times she spent with them were the best times of her life and especially the moments with her granddaughter Isabella. She truly believed that faith, family, and friends were the most important things in life and she had room in her heart for everyone she met. Mary was very generous with her love, time, and resources, and helped anyone she could. Her unwavering faith kept her grounded and helped her through all life's challenges. Mary’s passing leaves a hole in our family but her memories will not be forgotten.
Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family during Calling hours, Monday, May 3rd, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Tuesday, May 4th from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church 34 Ward Street where her celebration of Christian burial Mass will be held at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
