Mary R. (Fantasia) DiLiddo, of Worcester, died peacefully on Tuesday (May 8, 2018) at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center of Worcester, surrounded by her loved ones. She was the wife of the late Graziano J. DiLiddo. Born in Worcester, Mary was the daughter of the late Domenic and Caroline (Scricco) Fantasia and lived in Worcester all of her life. She attended Brom’s Academy of Hairdressing and, along with her sister Dorothy, owned and operated Mae-Dols Beauty Salon for many years before her retirement. Mary was a life-long member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St. Ann. She was also a member the Green Hill Golf Course and the former Indian Meadows Country Club. Mary had a zest for life and was always very active. She enjoyed playing golf, tennis, traveling, (especially spending time in Florida with her husband), and a good trip to the casino. In her later years, she also enjoyed her visits to the V Spa nail salon with her granddaughter Gina. Mary is survived by her loving family, her son Joseph R. DiLiddo Sr. of Shrewsbury; her daughter-in-law Maria Brescia of Worcester; her grandson Joseph R. DiLiddo Jr., his wife Erin, and great-grandson Logan of Holden; her granddaughter Gina M. Sawicki, her husband Daniel, and great-grandsons Domenic and Vincent of West Boylston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her canine companion, Diesel. Mary was predeceased by her two brothers, Patsy and Alfred Fantasia, as well as her sister Dorothy Corio.
The DiLiddo family would like to thank the Beaumont, especially the second floor staff; their kindness and compassion will always be remembered. Further, the family also sends a special thank you to Claudette Firms for all of her help through the years.
Mary’s funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 11, at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of Our Lady of Loreto, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Please meet directly at the church as there will be no calling hours. Entombment will be in the Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League at worcesterartl.org.
