August 14, 1934 — January 10, 2025

Worcester

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Mary G. (Pacheco) Ferraro, 90, a lifelong resident of Worcester who passed away peacefully, Friday, January 10th 2025 with her loved ones gathered at her bedside after a battle with cancer.

Mary was born in Worcester, the only daughter of Manuel “Manny” and Philomena (Baldino) Pacheco. She grew up in the Italian neighborhood of Shrewsbury Street and graduated from Worcester Girls Trade. On July 23rd, 1955 she married Joseph A. Ferraro Sr. and they moved to the North Lake Ave neighborhood to raise their family with love and faith for 63 years until Joe left her side on April 23rd, 2019. Mary continued to live in her home as the matriarch until her passing.

Mary leaves behind two sons, Joseph A. Ferraro, Jr. and his wife Susann of Worcester, Paul T. Ferraro and his partner Kevin Murray with whom she lived and were her dedicated caregivers, two sisters in law, Gloria Pacheco of Shrewsbury and her best friend, Darlene Pacheco of Shrewsbury, six grandchildren, Joseph A. Ferraro, III and his wife Jaime of Whitinsville, Tara Leslie and her husband Rit of Lewiston, ME., Toni Ferraro and her partner Jimmy Koutsikos of Auburn, ME, David Ferraro and his wife Kerry of Pelham, NH, Aaron Ferraro, Stephanie Ferraro and her partner, Michael Clark all of Worcester, three great grandchildren, Kira Ferraro, Nico Ferraro and Levi Clark, and three great great grandchildren, Camryn and Archer Jones, and Ashton Shepard of Worcester, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many, many close friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Joseph, she was predeceased by a son Donald P. “Pip” Ferraro, and three brothers, Manuel “Manny” Pacheco Jr, Anthony Pacheco and George Pacheco. She was a member of the former St. Margaret Mary Church. Mary was a stay at home mom, worked part time at UMass Medical Center in food services and cherished caring for her husband and family. In Mary’s life, her husband, children and grandchildren always came first no matter what. She was the backbone of her family who loved to cook, entertain and have her loved ones around her. Her home was always open to everyone and she made sure if you visited, you never left without having something to eat or take home with you.
