Mary "Dolly" Laurence

Mary S. “Dolly” (DiBara) Laurence, 94, of Worcester, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at Saint Vincent Hospital in Worcester.  Her loving husband, Russell Laurence, predeceased her in January 1997.

Mary is survived by her son, Russell Laurence; a cousin, who was more like a sister, Antoinette Lacerte of Worcester and her children, Ralph, May Rose, Donna, and Michelle; a dear family friend who considered Mary her grandmother, Tracy Prater and her husband Joshua and their son, Gavin who called her “Meemaw”; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by five siblings, Charles, Peter, Anthony, Pasquale, and Mildred DiBara.  Mary was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Matteo and Mary (Ianoli) DiBara, and has lived here all her life.

She was a founding member of Saint Joan of Arc Church, donating the first Baptismal Font to the church.  She loved BINGO and visiting Twin Rivers.  She also enjoyed watching the horses her husband and son owned as they ran races at Plainridge and Rockingham. 

Calling hours will be on Sunday, December 17, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Planation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Monday, December 18, departing the funeral home at 10:10 a.m. in procession to a 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester.  Interment will follow at Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
