Mary A Lazaro, 96, a quiet and loving women passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, June 19th 2018, with the ones she truly loved gathered at her side.
Mary was born in Somerville, Mass the only daughter of six children of Italian immigrants, Samuel and Josephine (Camilloni) Lazaro. Raise and educated in the Worcester Public Schools, Mary served the citizens of Worcester County for over 34 years for the County Extension Service before retiring.
Mary is survived by her brother and best friend, Richard Lazaro with whom she lived; many nieces, nephews she loved dearly and who watched over her. She considered them her children; Many other extended members family members. Four other brothers, Joseph, Albert, George and Alfred pre deceased her.
Mary was a member of St Stephen’s Church. A very private person, Mary was the happiest in her life with her family around her during the holidays, special occasions and anytime they were together.
Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours, Friday, June 22nd from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. before departing in procession to St Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton St. where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215.
