Mary Louise (Fellion) Moossa (fondly remembered as Louise, Mom, Meme, or Sitto), 99, died peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022, with her devoted son and daughter-in-law at her side. She joins her husband of 67 years, Joseph, in heaven.
Born in Malone, NY, Louise was the daughter of Frederick and Mary (Hosson) Fellion. Louise met Joseph Moossa in Worcester, MA, and on April 17, 1948, they married and began a life of faith, family and love raising their family in the house they built together in Holden, MA until moving to North Carolina. Louise dedicated her entire life to supporting her husband and children with love, guidance, support, and wisdom.
She is survived by her two children, Jo-Ann M. Hurley of Oxford, MA, and the Honorable Judge Robert J. Moossa and his wife Kathleen of Matthews, NC; two sisters, Eleanor Fleury and Geraldine Smith of NY; five grandchildren she cherished, Jennifer Tuxbury, Sean Hurley, Shannon Barca, Jonathan Moossa, and Matthew Moossa; six great-grandchildren of whom she adored, Chloe, Declan, Sienna, Paige, Madeleine, and Jack; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. In addition to her husband, Joe, and parents, she is also predeceased by her six brothers, Gerald, George, Francis, Richard, Robert, and Lawrence.
Louise was a devoted member of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Worcester, MA and was a former member of its Women’s Guild. She was a dedicated homemaker and loved caring for her husband, children and grandchildren, especially ensuring they were well-fed with her delicious cooking. Louise was always the life of family gatherings that created wonderful family memories, most of which included many laughs. During these times, she taught her family important Lebanese traditions that have been cherished and carried on by her children and grandchildren. Louise was an avid reader of current events and started each day by reading the newspaper from front to back. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including spending time with family, gardening, cooking and baking, and catching up with friends. She truly believed that faith, family, and friends were the most important parts of life and had room in her heart for everyone she met. Her unwavering faith kept her grounded and helped her through life's challenges. Her passing leaves a hole in our hearts but her loving and caring soul will not be forgotten.
