Mary E. “Betty” (Drohan) Peloquin, 89 of Kissimmee, FL., formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 30, 2021.
Betty was born on June 1, 1932, in Brooklyn, New York, the daughter of Martin J. & Mary E. (Atchue) Drohan. She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, MA., and Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing, earning her RN. Twenty years later, she went back to school to earn her BS in Nursing from Anna Maria School in Paxton, MA. Betty was a registered nurse working at Worcester City Hospital and in private practices.
Betty enjoyed traveling the globe with friends and family creating new ways to learn, experience, and live life to the fullest. Her creative side focused her love for knitting, crocheting allowing ample time for playing Bunco, Bingo, card games, and slots were her favorite pastimes. When you would watch her play the games, she would also end the game with a thumbs up or a gentle smile of fun.
She enjoyed getting together with friends, her grandchildren, taking vacations, visiting the casinos to play the famous penny slots for hours. Her remarkable wit would make you laugh at the most precarious moments to lighten up the mood. She also loved sending greeting cards to friends and family – not just on holidays or birthdays, but “just because.” She had the gift of hospitality, and everyone enjoyed conversation in her home.
Betty’s husband of 49 years, Louis J. “Skip” Peloquin passed away in 2003. She is survived by six children, Ann Barrow, Michael Peloquin, Karen Peloquin, Patricia Bradford, James Peloquin, John Peloquin; her sister, Eleanor Dell’Aquila of Maryland; and eight grandchildren.
