Mary F Proia

Mary F. Proia, aged 92 died peacefully on July 30, 2022, with her daughter Deborah at her bedside.  Born in Stamford, Ct, Mary grew up, was married, and raised her family in Worcester, Ma.  She graduated from Saint Mary’s High School and Salter’s Secretarial School.  Mary worked as an Executive Secretary for Town Talk Bakery before devoting herself to raising a family.  She subsequently returned to work as a Medical Records Clerk for Hahnemann Hospital.  In addition to her generosity, Mary was noted for her exceptional cooking and baking, green thumb gardening, jogs with her beloved dog Brutus, and engaging catechism teaching.

She was predeceased by her husband Mario J. Proia, and leaves behind her son James Proia and his partner Maria Dasilva, her son Stephen and his wife Deborah Proia, her daughter Deborah Sillo, and her grandchildren Anthony, Grant, Cole, Isabelle, Wes, and Rodrigo.  Mary is survived by her brother Joseph Naliwajko and his wife Magarethe, her brother Edward Naliwajka, and her many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services for Mary will be held on Tuesday August 30, 2022, at 11am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church 25 Fales St. Worcester, Ma 01606.  Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery.  There are no calling hours.  The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL is honored to serve the Proia family.
