Maryann J. (Caputo) Ford, 63, of Worcester, passed away with loving family at her bedside, in the comfort of her home on Friday, January 3, 2020, after a valiant and courageous battle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband of forty years, David Ford; two sons, Dana Ford of Leicester, and Joseph Ford of Worcester; a sister, Vera wife of Dennis Wrenn of Shrewsbury; beloved cousins who grew up with her and are more like siblings, Joe and Fred D’Angelo, Jr., and Vera Manzi; two sisters in law, Suzan Ford and Margaret Judson; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by her brother Ralph, her sister, Rachelle, and by her cousin Jimmy D’Angelo. Maryann was born in Worcester daughter of James and Helen (Ugone) Caputo. She was educated in Worcester and graduated from Burncoat High School and attended Worcester State College.
Maryann worked at Bay State Bank, formerly People’s Bank in Holden, for many years and always put her customers first. While at Bay State, she believed in customer service and made many friendly connections, often offering to help anyone, whether simply talking or assisting someone without a vehicle with groceries, during her lunch break. Maryann became an integral part of the community projects sponsored by Bay State. She was a devoted friend and enjoyed spending time with her special group of co-workers, both current and past, at their regular group outings.
She was a member of Saint Mary’s Church in Shrewsbury and was a member of the prayer group. Maryann had a love for a variety of crafts, but mostly enjoyed being outside, growing a variety of plants, and loving all that nature has to offer.
Maryann’s family would like to extend a special thanks to everyone at Dana Farber, including Dr. Kehl and his staff, for the loving, compassionate care they gave to her, during her sickness. The family also thanks her wonderful “family of girlfriends” and co-workers at Bay State Savings, especially Rosa, Trinny, Veronika, and Alicia.
Family and friends are invited to gather for Calling Hours on Thursday, January 9, from 4 pm until 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester; followed by a brief service of remembrance at 7 pm. Her Funeral will be on Friday, January 10, from the funeral home, departing at 9:40 am in procession, to a 10 am Funeral Mass at Saint Mary’s Church, 640 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
