Maurice “John” Walsh III, 75, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at Fitchburg Healthcare after a long illness. John was predeceased by his parents, Maurice Walsh Jr., and Ruth (Grenier) Walsh, and his sister, Ruth (Walsh) Walker.
He is survived by his brothers; Gary Walsh and his wife Sheila (Spring) Walsh of Sturbridge, and Stephen Walsh and his wife Carla (Faler) Walsh of Auburn. He is also held in loving memory by his 5 nieces and nephews as well as 10 great nieces and nephews.
A lifelong resident of Grafton Hill, John became a member of the Army 101st Airborne and proudly served in the Vietnam War. After returning home, he began a long career working for the City of Worcester. Upon retiring, he took time to enjoy everything he loved: spending time with his family, and with his friends at the local Dunkin Donuts and on the golf course. John was loved very dearly by those who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.
John will be cremated, and a private service will be held at a later date. MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
