Melissa A. Hunt-Deneault, 48 of Worcester, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 8, 2021.
Melissa was born in Worcester, a daughter of Thomas M. Hunt and the late Deborah A. (Woods) Hunt who preceded her in death on February 27, 2021.
Melissa is survived by her beloved husband of 24 years, Robert J. Deneault and their only son Joshua R. Deneault and his wife Beka of Worcester, a brother Matthew Hunt and his wife Megan of Foxboro, a sister Andrea Sawosik and her husband Peter of Spencer; her nieces Amelia, Madelyn, Sophia and nephew Myles who adoringly called her “Auntie Missa”.
Melissa is also survived by mother and father-in-law, Mary and John Deneault of Auburn, MA, brothers-in-law, John Deneault of Sturbridge, MA, Michael Deneault of Auburn, MA and Shawn Deneault of Spencer, MA and his daughter Avery and a sister-in-law Chrissy Deneault and her daughter Makaylah of Auburn, MA.
Melissa was a graduate of Burncoat Senior High School’s Class of 1992. Melissa worked in the quality assurance group at Abbott Laboratories and retired after 20 years of employment.
Melissa loved animals and her family remembers one of her first jobs working at the Pet Menagerie at the Greendale Mall. Her love and passion for animals was immensely adored on her golden retriever Murray (named for her favorite tennis player Andy Murray) and Charlie, who was rescued from Puerto Rico days prior to hurricane Maria. Melissa was her happiest when she could take her beloved dogs for long walks at Barre Falls Damn in Barre, MA.
Melissa loved life, her family and recently became attending church again at Our Lady of the Rosary and truly was happy with God in her life. There are no words to describe Melissa other than if you knew her, you loved her. She is going to be greatly missed by her family.
A funeral Mass for Melissa will be held on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 14 from 4pm-7pm at MERCADATE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
